ARLINGTON, Va., Jul 23, 2025 – The Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) welcomes the White House’s AI Action Plan as a critical step toward strengthening America’s long-term competitiveness in the AI era.
The AI Action Plan’s core pillars – accelerating AI innovation, building American AI infrastructure, and leading internationally – align broadly with SCSP’s long-held vision for U.S. leadership in AI and other emerging technologies. SCSP has consistently argued for unleashing private sector innovation through investments in foundational infrastructure like semiconductors and data centers; treating AI and leadership in AI as a national security imperative, including in strengthening our nation defenses; cultivating U.S. talent and data as strategic national assets; and driving American AI leadership throughout the world with the adoption of American AI models, hardware, and standards amongst our allies and partners.
“Building on the foundational work of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI), SCSP has consistently advocated for a comprehensive national strategy to secure America’s technological future. This AI Action Plan provides a critical component for winning the techno-economic competition of the 21st century,” said SCSP President Ylli Bajraktari. “It correctly identifies that our national security and economic prosperity, as well as America’s global leadership position, are now intertwined with leadership in AI. We are committed to helping transform this strategic vision into enduring national policy.”
